Computer Delivered IELTS for UKVI
If you want to study or Work in the UK or apply for professional registration, you might need to take an IELTS UKVI test. UKVI stands for United Kingdom Visas & Immigration. It is a Secure English Language Test (SELT) approved by the UK Home Office for visa applications to the United Kingdom.
The Academic or General UKVI test is the same as the Academic or General test in terms of content, format, scoring and the level of difficulty. However, the UKVI test is only available at test centres who meet the administrative requirements outlined by the UK Home Office. Your Test Report Form (TRF) will also look slightly different if you take a IELTS for UKVI test. UKVI result can’t be used for any other country except United Kingdom.
Difference between UKVI & normal IELTS :
The difference is that, UKVI has slightly different moderation, a maximum of 20 people for exam on a single day and there will be 3–4 examiners in the hall and it will be monitored by at least 3 sets of CCTV Cameras and microphones. But, for regular IELTS there were over 150 people and not much moderation to them. The halls for both the rest were different and not the same. The Fees of UKVI is a little bit higher than normal IELTS exam.
This shows that the standards that the British Council maintain for the UKVI and at the end of the session there were light refreshments also arranged for the UKVI candidates.
